The color is an omen that something is about to happen, or a good omen.
I understand that you wear "Converse" shoes in your private life as well.
TENDRE:Ever since I can remember, I have suddenly found myself wearing "All Star" sneakers. When I was in junior high or high school, my friends wore sneakers from various manufacturers. But I liked the sleek silhouette of "All Star" sneakers, and I found myself collecting them in various colors.
Converse is a very universal brand, isn't it? . That's why it makes sense that "when I realized I was wearing them, I started wearing them.
TENDRE:. If you watch movies from the 80's and so on, people usually wear them. . Maybe it was imprinted on me naturally from that kind of thing. They really are a classic, or the word "standard" fits. It is a brand and shoes that will never fade away. And I don't think there are many shoes that look good no matter who wears them. They match the mood of any era and blend in with any fashion without any sense of discomfort. . Today, I was able to wear them for the first time in a long time, and it brought back many memories.
When do you wear "Converse" shoes, in what situations and moods do you usually find yourself in?
TENDRE:When I want to be light. When you want to go out on a day off without much luggage. They are very close to my daily life. I often wear high-cut shoes, but they are a bit like wearing boots.
What are the most common colors?
TENDRE:It is overwhelmingly black. Not all black , but the ones with white soles. But I also have colored ones. There is a store that carries a lot of "Converse," and I have bought shoes in many different colors (laughs). (Laughs.) I bought shoes in various colors, such as green and a dull yellow. (Laughs.) I think it's nice to wear something like that once in a while for a change of pace.
A: You have released three new models in a new color, midnight blue. How did you feel when you tried them on?
TENDRE:I hadn't chosen navy recently, so it was refreshing. After all, I had been wearing black most of the time. However, today I realized that there are clothes and coordination styles that are more appealing because of this color.
. It is a dark, deep color, but it has a lightness and freshness that black does not have.
TENDRE:Since last year, I have been wanting to be strong within myself, so I have been wearing black a lot. But when I wore the midnight blue "Converse" today, I felt a sense of being released from my tension. It was interesting to discover something like that.
Midnight blue is the color of the night sky.
TENDRE:Yes, it is the color of midnight, but it is more like the color of the sky before dawn. Rather than becoming deeper and deeper, it is more like the color of a bright and clear sky. Or the deep sea. . But it is not as if it is sinking down, but rather rising up.
Do you sometimes create music inspired by colors?
TENDRE:Yes, there are. . The same is true for my songs, and I often express my mood with colors. For example, if it is red, I want to be aggressive, and if it is green, I want to be relaxed. Last year, I wanted to be strong, so I wore only black. In this way, I think the image and concept of colors are very important in creating a mood.
Have you ever written a song with Midnight Blue as your inspiration?
TENDRE:No, but I got a good ispiration . I think the color is an omen for something to happen, or perhaps a good omen. Also, I think it would be interesting to make music that people can immerse themselves in because of this deep and calm color.
You have been recording recently.
TENDRE:. yes, I am. I hope to be able to upload things at the right time.
I think that the pandemic in 2020 will make it impossible for you to perform live, but last year you started to resume your activities, and I have a feeling that this year will accelerate the pace of your activities.
TENDRE:There is still a sense of uncertainty about where we are going, but I have a strong desire to release in a big way the thoughts and ideas that I have cultivated over the past two years while thinking about what I have rethought and how I should interact with people and so on.
I am seeing more and more musicians being featured, and because of this, I have been able to create songs that I have never created before, and I feel that I have become a little more open to new ideas.
You have gone from a state of exploration to one that has opened up this year.
TENDRE:We are still groping, but I don't take that as a bad thing. Some people want to go back to the days before the pandemic, while others are looking for the best for the current era, and there is a lot of discussion among them. As a result, new ideas are born, and I think that is a very positive thing.
. Somehow, it goes along with the image of midnight blue that you mentioned earlier.
TENDRE:That may be so. As for music, I don't think it's any good if I sing songs that lament about the world. I think it's no good if I sing songs that lament about the world. I think it is my role to share new ideas that will help people move forward, even if only a little.
It will soon be five years since you started your activities as TENDRE , do you feel any changes in yourself?
TENDRE:I think I am becoming more honest. I still want to communicate with various people and know what they think. On top of that, I want to communicate my own feelings. Through these repeated sessions, I feel that I have grown in some areas, but at the same time, I am pleasantly aware of my immaturity.
. Through such communication, you are absorbing various things, aren't you?
TENDRE:Yes, that's right. It is important to chew over the opinions of various people once, rather than being single-minded and transmitting only one's own. If they don't fit, I don't think it's necessary to force them in.
Do you have any goals for the future?
TENDRE:. To appear on TV in a not-so-subtle way (laughs). (Laughs.) Rather than performing my music there, I would like to communicate with various people and discover new ways of thinking, as I mentioned earlier. It could be a musician, a creative person, or even a grandparent in the countryside. I want to be exposed to the ideas of all kinds of people. If there was such a program, I would like to do it, and I would like to be on it (laughs).
