The town of Kamikatsu in Tokushima Prefecture has been in the spotlight for several years. The reason for this is the town-wide zero-waste policy, or in other words, the town's zero waste policy, and the local efforts related to it. Allbirds, also born in the U.S., is also thoroughly environmentally conscious, and most of its materials are derived from nature. So, let's run around Kamikatsu Town with "Allbirds," and the handsome HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB ♡ was mobilized. What I felt through this social studies tour for adults was how serious Kamikatsu Town and "Allbirds" are about the environment.

What kind of town is Kamikatsu-cho?

Kamikatsu Town has a population of about 1,500. Kamikatsu Town is the smallest town in Shikoku. There is only one traffic light and no convenience store in the town . It was in 2003 that this rural town began to attract attention. The town declared itself "zero-waste" and now recycles nearly 80% of its garbage.

In addition to that, around 2015, coincidentally, new establishments started opening at the same time. All of them are so cool and yet so eco-friendly that it is hard to believe they are in a town of 1,500 people.

On a certain day in June, HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB♡'s director, Mr. Enomoto, and deputy director, Mr. Yamamoto, visited such a town. They toured the sustainable town wearing "Allbirds," a completely eco-friendly brand that is as good as Kamikatsu Town's. .
