capilene lover1 Hideki Fujikawa / Owner, Broccoli playhair

In addition to running the "Broccoli playhair" beauty salon in Daikanyama and Shibuya, he also runs the "Chicken Heart Running Team," a run group based in Yoyogi Park. Incidentally, Ms. Fujikawa's Nakamuro also offers a runner's discount. If you show them your log from the previous month, you get a 10 percent discount for every 100 kilometers you run. Some runners even get a 30% discount (300 km in a month).hdk_trailrun
The trekking competition is also a basic Capilene.
Do you run running clubs, and do they have different characteristics?
Fujikawa:The level of stiffness and the size of the team are completely different depending on where you are aiming for. I started my team because I wanted to involve young people. We are training to eventually be able to run 100 miles (160 km).
Mr. Fujikawa, you also run in our HOUYHNHNM RUNNING CLUB♡, don't you?
Fujikawa:I always have fun running and drinking (laughs). (Laughs) I am still connected to the people I met there, and I am very grateful for that. So I try to participate whenever I can.
What do you wear when you run, Mr. Fujikawa?

Fujikawa:It's all about being easy, lightweight, and easy to dry. However, running a race is different from running on a daily basis.
You are wearing Patagonia's "baggy shorts" today.

Fujikawa:I already wear them like crazy. I wear them to work as well as when I run. In the summer, I wear shorts all the time, so I wear about 5 pairs of "baggy shorts" at a time. I often walk around empty-handed, so I like the size of the pockets to hold everything. I also like that the material doesn't stretch, so it doesn't shake when I put things in it.
What about "Capilene" on the other hand?
Fujikawa:I have a lot of t-shirts and sleeveless ones. I even competed in the "Capilene" race the other day.
Why do you wear Capilene not only during activities but also in everyday life?
Fujikawa:Not only are they quick-drying and stretchy, but they don't feel like you're running when you go out for drinks after a run. And my concept of coordination?Mr. Makino, a serious runnerIt is "an outfit that can run no matter what happens at any time. Even if there is an earthquake and the trains stop, I am dressed to run to my house in Zushi. Maybe that is why I often choose to wear "Capilene.
What is the difference between "Capilene" and other brands of synthetic fiber base layers?
Fujikawa:Capilene" is made from recycled polyester, but many things made from recycled materials are surprisingly difficult to wear. The fabrics are often too stiff, or the functions are weak. I think it is excellent in that respect. I wear it quite often at competitions.
You mentioned recycling. Are there any actions that you yourself are working on?

Fujikawa:I pick up trash where I usually run, as a way of saying thank you. Last summer I started a monthly event called the "Shibuya Cleaning Club," and since moving to Zushi, I have been picking up trash while I run. This is the fourth time I have done this, and about 20 people gather each time.
Q: What is the reason why you like Patagonia so much?

Fujikawa:There was an event last year at Worn Wear (a platform for Patagonia products to be used longer) where the staff sold their old clothes to the general public. When I tried on a pair of pants, one of the staff members told me, "They are too big for you, so I don't think you would wear them even if you bought them. Normally, I would want to sell them. But I was again exposed to the attitude of not selling useless things and the company's way of thinking, and from there, I fell in love with the company all over again.
