About a little special authenticity this summer.

When we think of sneakers that look good in summer, the Vans "Authentic" sneakers come to mind. The flat face of the Authentic sneaker blends in with both the usual denim and tanned shorts styles with a light touch. The new "Authentic 44 Deck DX" from the Anaheim Factory Collection, which has a classic appeal, has a finish that will make "VANS" fans drool. We asked Tetsuro Hori of Surf & Tailor MOAT and Takuya Shimada of Vans PR, two of Kansai's top Vans enthusiasts, about its appeal, and shot the styles of six people who actually wear these shoes on the street.

What did you like about the Authentic 44 Deck DX when you saw it in person?

They were cushioned and comfortable to wear . . The sole is a beautiful light blue color, like deck shoes, and they are elegant. I liked that they were non-slip while working.

Do you have any rules or points that you usually pay attention to when wearing "Vans" sneakers?

I don't skate, but I think the appeal of "Vans" is that they look good even when they are worn out like skaters do, so I wear them without worrying too much about dirt.

What kind of places would you like to wear the Authentic 44 Deck DX this summer?

I like to walk a lot, so they will be useful in many places! I like surfing, but at night my feet get cold in sandals, so they will be useful when I'm out at sea.

What was the point of this day's coordination?

The pattern is an anchor motif, and the color scheme of navy and white evokes summer, so I added a light blue chambray shirt as the top. Pants were styled with ragged hickory shorts so as not to be too stiff, giving the impression of a color scheme that evokes the sea.

- What kind of outfits would you like to wear with it outside of summer?

Coat and slacks! I want to match it with the most beautiful items.

Do you have any rules or points that you usually pay attention to when wearing "Vans" sneakers?

It may not be so much a point of reference, but I often wear them when I wear beautiful items in my styling.

What did you like about the Authentic 44 Deck DX when you saw it in person?

Classic, fresh colors and textures perfect for summer . I like that the insole fits better than the regular "Authentic" and does not tire me out after a long walk.

Do you have any rules or points that you usually pay attention to when wearing "Vans" sneakers?

To avoid making the overall look too menswear-like, tops are often chosen in the perfect size or worn with dresses or skirts.

What kind of places would you like to wear the Authentic 44 Deck DX this summer?

I was told that the soles are resistant to wet surfaces , so I would love to go for a walk on the beach wearing these.
