DAY 3 Finally, the last day. No regrets about fishing and udon!
The third and final day of the tour. Early in the morning, we headed to Fuchu Lake, one of the best bass spots in Kagawa. It is the largest field in the prefecture , and a place with many land-based points. We started the day with a rod in a river that flows into the lake! As was the case with Lake Kinzuna the day before, it is easy to target places where the water is flowing. Fish have a habit of swimming against the current, and it is said that such bass often have a strong appetite. . In places where the current is strong, they are hiding behind rocks or in areas where the current is weakening, so it is easier to identify the point than in lakes.

Ikemoto:Today I want to use a bait reel and fish with a spinnerbait. Aim to improve my skills.
Ishii:I haven't caught a fish yet, so I'm definitely going to catch one today. . taking advantage of yesterday's reflection , don't be in a hurry.
Komatsu:I lost my concentration yesterday, so I want to catch a big bass today.

The three of them, who had bowled on the second day, were fired up, but the bass did not seem to respond very well. . But Mr. Kawamura still managed to catch them. Koooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! I've said it many times, but that's what I'm talking about! Hiramoto went to a remote place , but how is he doing?

Hiramoto:I tried the spinnaker sight that Mr. Kawamura taught me, and a bass as big as 50 cm hit. But I couldn't get a good hook and lost it. ...... After that, I couldn't get a bite.
Everyone tried everything , but ended up not catching any fish. We decided to go to Udon for lunch, and then to try again at the Kadoniri Dam, which was the best place to fish. We were worried about the weather, but it turned out to be fine! . Whether we cried or laughed, this was the last game of the camp.

Hiramoto caught his first fish as soon as he arrived!

Hiramoto:. Actually, I had lost a fish at the same spot on the first day. . I took advantage of my mistake and fished with the same large straight worm, a Steed's Cat Straight. I dropped it where the bass were swimming, and three of them gathered there. . It was interesting because I could see the whole thing.
The other members of the team tried to follow Hiramoto's lead.
Ikemoto:I was throwing a spinnerbait with a bait reel, just like in the morning, because I wanted to increase the size . After all, bass fishing is all about the bait reel. . It gives me a wider range of lures and allows me to control the landing of the bait, which makes it more fun.
Ichikawa:. I am trying the spinnaker sight that Mr. Kawamura taught me. I had a bite , but it fell apart. ......
Komatsu:Anyway, fish the same as the first day, focusing on numbers rather than size. I feel like a worm, comfortably swept away by the water. I want them to eat quickly.
Then Ishii, who had not been catching any fish, spoke up!

Ishii:He is a cute little guy , but I am glad I managed to catch him! Following Mr. Kawamura's advice, I dropped it into a streambed and lured it in, and it was a great catch. . Now I am aiming to increase the size of the fish.

And a few minutes later, Ishii caught another fish! . He seems to have gotten the hang of land-based fishing here.
After that, we continued to throw lures without giving up, but time was running out and we had to leave. It had been a long time since all the members had touched a bass on a fishing trip.

Ishii:I had a great time and really enjoyed the fishing and the udon! It was great and I hope to come back again . I think it was a very fulfilling camp.
Hiramoto:One fish each day, but I was happy to catch them all over 40 cm . The location was also great, something you can't experience in the Kanto area.
Ichikawa:It was a very enjoyable camp. It is fun just to go out and fish with friends, but I think the best part is eating delicious local specialties.
Komatsu:My first time in Shikoku , great. . I'm glad I was able to experience again how interesting bass fishing is. I also got to know how good udon noodles are , so I want to come back again!
Ikemoto:I'm glad I achieved my goal of fishing anyway. I spent a lot of time listening to the staff members talk about many things, and I was able to set my next goal.
. Thus ended the summer camp of HOUYHNHNM FISHING CLUB. We fished as much as we could and ate plenty of udon noodles. As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, black bass are all over Japan, so I would like to visit various places while fishing again. A trip mainly for sightseeing and fishing might be a good idea. Well, it is a really good hobby!
