Shimotsu-san, do you usually wear a watch?
Shimotsu:I do wear a watch. I wear a nice watch when I wear a suit. I'm about to turn 33 years old, but I'm an adult now, so I think I should wear it on a daily basis as well (laughs).
How did you feel when you tried on "Ventura" this time?
Shimotsu:I believe "Ventura" was born in '57. I believe Elvis Presley's first album came out that year. So I thought it was a very rock clock. It's cool that the time has not changed since then. The form is also somewhat futuristic. I like American comics, and I feel that kind of mood. I feel the boldness of American design. I feel myself becoming stronger when I wear it.
Ventura is also the world's first battery-powered wristwatch. As a symbol of this, the dial is decorated with the electric charge symbol, which represents electricity.
Shimotsu:I see. That's the first time I've heard of that. In terms of guitars, it is a "Les Paul" (laughs). The shape of the electric guitar has not changed since the 1950s, and it is amazing that the result of the pursuit of functionality at that time still remains as a product today.

VENTURA
This piece strongly reflects the modern design of the mid-20th century. The combination of the silver-colored case and the croco-embossed belt is both understated and graceful.¥118,800
It also fits Shimotsu-san's style, doesn't it?
Shimotsu:I wanted one because it was the world's first battery-powered wristwatch. I'm a big fan of such things. I feel a sense of tension when I wear it, but it is comfortable. If I were to wear it, I would like to wear it in urban places. I would also like to wear it when I appear on TV in "Land of the Dancing" (laughs).
How are your recent musical activities?
Shimotsu:We didn't have a place for ourselves, so we have been working too vigorously for the past three to four years to create one, and all of the members are in a state of brain juices flowing.
I feel that we are achieving our goal of creating a place for people to stay.
Shimotsu:We think that from a global perspective, the music industry is still in its infancy. Compared to the fashion scene, the music industry still lacks diversity and is closed. We want to destroy that, and we will continue to do so until we can do so. In Japan, I would like to perform at the Nippon Budokan within two years, and I would also like to tour overseas. I am not young anymore, and I want to live my life with a firm sense of time.
