."I don't usually wear a gilet that often, but I do wear it a lot in my roles, so I'm attached to it. . They are easy to wear, and I think anyone can look good in them. Easy pants are also an item that makes me want to wear them in the summer. They are comfortable, after all. ."Check shirts may also be the No. 2 outfit I wear most often. It has a nice traditional image. I often wear shorts as well, but I often hear that girls don't like them, so I think this kind of outfit gives a good impression (laughs). ."I think that a person's inner self is reflected in their appearance.

When did you first become interested in fashion?

Keita Machida (hereafter, Machida)I started being conscious of fashion when I was in high school. I think it was when I started dancing. It is important to look good when dancing, and I admired dancers in various fashions. Before that, I was indifferent.

What were you dressed like at that time?

MachidaIt was right around that time when skinny denim was becoming popular. Dancers also wore skinny denim for shows, and although they were hip-hop, they danced smartly without being sloppy. I thought that was very fashionable. So I would wear skinny jeans and a big top. . Things changed when I joined my current agency and started working as an actor. . My hair style and skin color gradually became more relaxed. I used to be all black (laughs).

Are you more relaxed about fashion now?

MachidaYes, I do. I don't try to mend things on a regular basis anymore, and I wear what I really like to wear. . I am not a very fancy person to begin with, so maybe I naturally became this way.

. Perhaps the dance brought out a side of Ms. Machida that she had not seen before.

MachidaI think so. I guess that's why I was so interested in it. . I had never been exposed to entertainment at all before that. Many things changed from then on.

He has suffered some serious injuries, but when you think about it, perhaps it was all inevitable that he would become the man he is today.

Machida. I don't know if that was good or bad (laughs). (Laughs.) I put a lot of people through a lot of trouble.... But I think it was a turning point or an experience. ...I have no choice but to be positive (laughs).

I'm sure he was positive and dynamic.

Machida. I have the mentality that if something really interests me, I'll just go for it. . When I choose clothes, I usually buy them as soon as I like them, and I don't hesitate much. However, since I buy clothes without thinking about how to combine them, many times I find that I already have something similar when I get home (laughs).

What did you think of the A|X Armani Exchange collection you wore today?

MachidaActually, the first brand-name T-shirt I bought after becoming interested in clothes in high school was an "A|X Armani Exchange" T-shirt. So when I heard about today's event, I was talking with my manager and wondering if it was some kind of a coincidence.

I see. It is a strange feeling to be asked to wear such a brand as a model, isn't it?

MachidaI'm grateful for that. I think I still have that T-shirt. It was a really very orthodox design with a very orthodox logo. I went to Hawaii on a high school excursion, and you take some money with you, don't you? When I found the A|X Armani Exchange store in the duty-free store, I knew I had to go there. . I was a little tall for a high school student. I had a kind of longing for it.

I see . Now, regarding your acting career, the drama "Hito ga Mukou ga 100 %" in which you are currently starring is also attracting a lot of attention. The character you play, Takuma Maruo, is a new one for you, isn't it?

MachidaYes, that's right. I think this is the first time I have played a role in which I am so out of character. I also feel like I got more and more intense as I got into a bad mood with the staff and came up with ideas (laughs). (laughs) I am grateful that I am able to freely enjoy this aspect of the role.

Mr. Machida, who is usually in the male-dominated society of the Gekidan EXILE, is in the world of "girls' modesty" (laughs).

MachidaYes, I agree. The word "appearance" is also very blatant (laughs). (Laughs.) But I believe that a person's inner self is reflected in his or her appearance. The worldview of the drama is unexpectedly light, but when the drama reaches its final scene, I wonder what it means to say that "people are 100% what they appear to be. It would be nice if we could share this with the viewers and give them some hints for their daily lives.

Like when you started dancing, do you still enjoy playing another persona?

MachidaWhat do you think? I don't feel that I'm separate from the actors, since I'm the one doing all the acting, but I feel like I'm expanding my image of the role through small discoveries, like "Oh, this is something that happens.

. maybe that is a feeling that only an actor can understand.

MachidaI think you may be right. It's a really simple process. . but it may be similar to putting on new clothes. I enjoy the time I spend thinking about where I will go and what I will do with these clothes.

I knew you were positive there, too.

MachidaYes, I think I've already had my fun (laughs). I think I had an experience that no one else could have, as if I had won 300 million yen (laughs).
