Known as an epoch-making wristwatch, Hamilton's "Ventura," the world's first battery-powered wristwatch, was born in 1957 and surprised people with its futuristic form. Richard Arbib, the genius of industrial design, created this form, which has been handed down to the present day, more than 60 years after its birth. What if someone were to wear such a "Ventura" on his or her wrist? Seven people from different professions and ages, including fashion professionals, models, musicians, and athletes, will appear on the show to share their experiences and explain the appeal of this watch.

Do you usually wear a watch?

aReK:I have a lot of small ones. I ride my bicycle and skate, so I don't want to bump them. I also have large ones, but I wear them when I go out in style.

How do you feel about wearing "Ventura"?

aReK:It is very cool. Especially this red light. I basically wear only black clothes, so this red light really stands out. I think this watch has kept the traditional design, but it looks futuristic. It's a little elegant, and it's nice.

aReK:I did not know that. That's great! I think the 50's was a very future-conscious era. I feel that this is reflected not only in the design but also in the watch's construction.

I would like to know more about your sense of time when you are painting.

aReK:When I'm painting, I'm so focused that I don't pay much attention to time. When I look at my watch and wonder how much time has passed, I usually find that a lot of time has passed. I look at my watch and see that a lot of time has passed. Sometimes I am surprised to see that (laughs).

What do you think about when you are painting?

aReK:In fact, I sometimes think about things that are completely unrelated. What am I going to have for dinner?" or "What am I going to do tomorrow? (Laughs.) I am concentrating on the completion of the work, but beyond that, it is also a good time to think about myself. It's almost like a kind of meditation.

Where do you get inspiration for your work?

aReK:Recently, when I go to places where there is nature, or when I absorb various things from everyday life, I put them into my paintings. I also get some things from listening to music. Recently I have been thinking about where I am headed, and I would like to show my work overseas next year. I have been in Japan for a long time, and I have been told by many people overseas that I am good at what I do.
