Please tell us about your work at Suigen no Mori.
Ehara:We do a lot of outdoor work. . we carry guests' belongings by baby carriage, sweep up and clear away fallen leaves, clean the tent saunas, etc. . We also maintain the entire campground and have been updating it since it first opened. We have guests come in and give us advice from time to time, and all the staff members work together to gradually improve the campground.
In order to make the accommodation cabins more user-friendly, we added a deck this spring. We completed the work with the guidance of a professional, but we have been doing exactly the maintenance ourselves since then.

It's a drastic change from graphic design and construction work to running a campground.
Ehara:Setsumum Kobayashiasa of "Mountain Research" is one of the owners of this "Suigen no Mori" and is responsible for the direction of the restaurant. I have been a fan of his work since the days of "General Research," and I used to go to his store, but when the idea of a campground came up, he invited me to join him. . It was a chance encounter, but it keeps me busy and fulfilled every day.

Do you use a watch on a regular basis?
Ehara:Especially when I was doing construction work at my previous job, a "G-SHOCK" was indispensable. In field work, you don't have time to worry about scratches, so of course you need a sturdy watch. At the time, I was using a 5600 series watch, and I just loved how thin it was.
I had to be able to stick my hands in tight places while performing delicate work, and my work would not go smoothly unless I had something thick enough not to get in the way when I was wearing it. I had been wearing a "G-Shock" for more than 10 years because of my work, and it was easy to use.

So it was a masterpiece for you, Ehara. How about now?
Ehara:My style is to choose military or practical workwear, so I basically choose a watch that fits that style as well. I do a lot of outside work at the campsite, so I prefer something tough, but I don't have a problem with ruggedness, so my choices are pretty wide now.
Analog dials are easier to keep track of the time at a glance, so something like the "G-Shock" is an option.
