Nagano (city)Yes, I think so too. I am interested in so-called double riders' jackets with added designs. For example, embroidered items.

KobayashiYou know the style where a long coat is worn over a G-jacket? I have recently seen a similar style of dressing. In Italy, there was an American casual boom, and there were people wearing tailored jackets over riders.
I see, using a riders jacket as an inner layer.
KobayashiYes, it is. The rider's jacket had a large collar, which made it look like he was wearing a double formal vest, which was really cool.

."I used boa material as it is easy to match with my everyday wardrobe. I myself have never worn a leather rider's jacket, so I wanted to make one in a different material. I designed this jacket with attention to the quality of the material, the texture of the boa, and the comfort of the fit. I also want you to pay attention to the color scheme of the attached parts.
The key is to multiply, not add.
Nowadays, the approach of special orders and collaborations are being used in various places, but what do you think is necessary to create meaningful collaborations in this context?
workingI think it is important for the creator to enjoy what he or she does.
Ministry of Revenue (Tang-dynasty China)I agree with you. When a product reflects the feeling of fun, it is a good product. Otherwise, it is impossible to create something that will be understood by customers.
Nagano (city)For this 5th anniversary project, we had a lot of discussions with the five people here about what kind of items to create, and many ideas were born that Abe and I could not have come up with on our own.
workingWith my own brand, I, as the designer, have 100% decision-making authority. I can put all my thoughts and ideas into each item. But in a collaboration like this, the decision-making power is shared 50-50. In this way, I can imagine what the final product will look like, but because I am entrusted with 50% of the decision, the actual finished product goes beyond the boundaries of my image. I think that is the real thrill of collaboration.
KobayashiWhen I talk with the two people at Sevcig, they make all kinds of suggestions. What we usually do is collaborate with factories, so to speak. But both Abe and Nagano have a lot of content that factories don't have, and when I say, "I want to make this kind of item," they sometimes give me answers I didn't expect. That's what makes it fun.

."Since I am not a motorcycle rider, I was able to look at the riders' jacket as a flat item and design it freely. The concept was a "lounge riders cardigan. I created something relaxing and easy to wear, reminiscent of loungewear. The boa on the body is made in Italy from a fabric with a firm texture, and the leather on the sleeves is made from matte baby cuff.
We do not sell, but make good products, even if they are inefficient.
I know that you all do special orders for stores, but do you use a different mindset in cases like this?
workingStore special orders often involve changing the material or color of an existing item. But this time, we had to come up with the design from scratch, which is inefficient in a sense (laughs). I think it is our job to make it interesting.
Obito (hereditary title, often given to powerful regional families)We are not doing this in search of sales, are we? However, such items surprisingly resonate with customers. Actually, last year, I designed a double-named rider's jacket for "sevsig" and "Fundamental," with the intention of doing something interesting. I designed it with the idea of trying something interesting. When I did that, the response from customers was very positive. As Mr. Udo said, I designed with the intention of creating something inefficient, so I ended up with an unusual item, which ultimately led to good results.

Especially in this day and age, customers have a lot of information, and it is easy for them to see right through it. However, while communicating with everyone, I could really feel the passion with which they were working. Even if it was just our ego, I am sure that we were able to create an item with a soul.

."The concept was "leather and denim. At the meeting with Abe and Nagano, we talked about how we wanted to mix our icons, so we designed this item. At first glance, it looks like denim, but the material is leather. But it is dyed indigo, so you can enjoy the vivid hue of the indigo.

Abe and Nagano, what have you gained through your interactions with everyone?
Ministry of Revenue (Tang-dynasty China)I learned many things. Normally, it is difficult to absorb ideas just by talking about them. But this time, I was able to learn many things because we were actually creating something tangible while talking.
Nagano (city)I think I can and would like to try new things again.
Finally, do you have any thoughts on the future goals and prospects of "sevsig"?
Ministry of Revenue (Tang-dynasty China)I honestly feel that I want to keep the brand going forever. With the lack of bright news about fashion in the past few years, I think it is important to take action in order to survive from here on out. Think about various things, come up with various ideas, and then take action to realize the ideas that are born. I will always try to keep the brand moving in this cycle. Also, I would like to make this brand a brand that is known as "Sevcig" when it comes to rider's jackets.
