Eagle can be used both in the field and in town.
What kind of clothes do you wear while working on the farm?
Ikeuchi:It gets dirty and moves around a lot, so it has to be rough and something I don't mind getting dirty.
And you often wear Aigle rubber boots.
Ikeuchi:In fact, I only wear "Aigle" rubber boots (laughs). (Laughs.) I've been wearing them for a couple of years now, and they are really great.

Unique to the French brand, this jacket with an original print inspired by Parisian architecture is made of water-repellent nylon. It comes with a hood to protect you from sudden rain.Lightweight jacket ¥31,900(AEGLE Customer Service)
What exactly is your favorite part?
Ikeuchi:I've used a lot of things in the past, but this is tougher than any of them, and I can use it hard. And the rubber is soft. I have to bend down a lot when I work on the farm, and it's not hard at all. I'm going to say it again, but they really are the best (laughs).
I hear that some people have been using it for about 20 years.
Ikeuchi:You can tell how sturdy they are when you wear them. I also like the fact that the sole is stable despite its softness.

Aigle's rubber boots, which Mr. Ikeuchi loves so much, are still made by hand by craftsmen. They are comfortable to wear even after long hours of farm work, and provide support for the feet.Boots ¥19,800(AEGLE Customer Service)
Aigle has a strong outdoor image, but in its home country of France, where the brand has its roots, it has long been supported by farmers.
Ikeuchi:I didn't know that, but I think it will inevitably happen. Because they are really convenient (laughs). The design is good, so when it rains, I wear them regardless of the field, and I can go shopping after I finish working in the field. Incidentally, I heard that a winter model of Eagle's rubber boots with heat insulation will be released this fall, and I am planning to buy those as well (laughs).

The jacket with GORE-TEX is a versatile item that is both windproof and waterproof. It is comfortable in any weather and dirt can be easily removed.Jacket ¥53,900Worn duringLightweight jacket ¥31,900, ,Jeans ¥18,700Cap ¥8,690 (all from AEGLE Customer Service)
The clothes from "Aigle" looked very good on you.
Ikeuchi:Farmers in America and elsewhere work in denim, which is cool. And they are muddy and shaggy. I hope today's denim from "Aigle" will change over time like that. I also like the jacket a lot, and it really helped when it rained while I was working the other day. The pockets are well thought out and perfect for the fields.
Also, as with all items, the appeal is that they function best in the field and are not embarrassing to wear out in the field. I also like the beautiful colors.
By the way, do you plan to continue farming?
Ikeuchi:I hope to continue as long as I live here.

What vegetables do you plan to grow in the future?
Ikeuchi:That's already tomatoes, right?
I see that you really like tomatoes (laughs). By the way, can you grow them in Tokyo?
Ikeuchi:If you have a planter, soil, and seeds, you can do it in a small space. And then plant tomatoes. I am not kidding, tomatoes are really easy to grow.
Are there any particular varieties that you recommend?
Ikeuchi:I guess it's still black tomatoes. Let's all grow tomatoes together wearing "Aigle" clothes (laughs).
