PROFILE
A four-piece band consisting of Isono-kun (Vo, Gt), Kiichi (Gt), Suzukishigo (Ba), and Soufumi "Beatsoldier" Obara (Dr). Isono's expressive voice and the band's sound, which has a strong backbone, make them a must-see on stage, as they have long been at the forefront of the underground scene. All members work as office workers during the week and transform themselves into musicians at night.

Mr. Isono is the driver and Kiichi is the passenger. Suzukisigo is in the backseat on the left, and Takeshi "Beatsoldier" Obara is on the right. The soft and comfortable "IZIPIZI" is the best choice on the road under the strong sunlight.
With the "playlist to get you in the festival mood" created by Mr. Isono as background music, we headed to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, where GREENROOM FESTIVAL '23 was to be held.
Do you feel the name "YONA YONA" in many places these days?
Isono:I think it started gradually after the release of the EP "Preference" last year.
Kiichi:I had a one-man show at "LIQUIDROOM" at that time, and it was around that time that I started to feel a little bit of a slowdown.
How about you, Mr. Obara?
Obara:Since Corona opened, I have been invited to more and more events by bands that I wanted to play with. I think it is a good situation to be seen by such bands and people involved in the event.

Mr. Isono, whose trademark is to wear sunglasses, wears a pair with light-colored lenses, which is a new product. , which can be worn at night because of its light-colored lenses.
You will be releasing a new EP "into the wind" on June 21.
Isono:Since the release of "Preference," I have put the image of YONA YONA to the side and started to create songs more freely. As a result, we have been accepted by many people and have even been invited to perform at festivals. So this time, while packaging the same mood, I think we have incorporated some of the initial impulse into the songs, giving them a new feel.
Obara:Also, I feel that many of the songs on the past albums were more like city pop, but this time, there are some experimental songs, and the sound is more like a band.
Do you have any experimental music in particular that you think of?
Obara:There is a song called "Yoshinani" , which is more rock-oriented and has a long interlude. The preceding song "into the wind" is also catchy, but not POP. It has a solid 8-beat beat.
