After getting ready, it was time to go! Mr. Saisu and Ichikawa, fishing and drinking buddies, were on the same boat, while Ishii and Komatsu were on their own for the first time. Ishii boarded a hand-controlled boat, while Komatsu boarded a foot-controlled boat operated by foot pedals.

Ishii:I have ridden handcons a few times, but this is my first time riding alone. I am looking forward to being able to move freely to any point I want.
Komatsu:I wanted to try riding foot con. I thought it would be difficult, but I'll get used to it soon. I will be careful not to capsize.
First, we headed for a shallow water area near a boat rental shop. It is said that low pressure during the rainy season causes plankton to rise to the water's surface, and both the small fish that eat them and the black bass that prey on them gather near the surface. And it is the first morning when the fish are moving around energetically. Expectations are high for topwater plugs and frog-like frogs, which are said to be difficult to catch.

Saisu:I only use topwater plugs for bass fishing. For now, I will mainly use double swishers and frogs and see how it goes.
Ichikawa: The recent rains have caused the water to rise very high. The scenery is totally different from when I came here last year. It looks like we can fish at this time of the day, so I'm going to use topwaters and big baits to catch big bass.
Ikemoto: Because I am fishing while filming, I usually bring only one rod, but today I used two rods, bait tackle and spinning tackle. It is reassuring to know that I can use both depending on the situation.

Ishii:It looks like it could be very fishable. First of all, I am going to try various lures I bought yesterday.
Komatsu:My favorite rod is the SWAGGER model that makes it easy to move the frog lure. I have never fished with a frog and just moving it around is fun!
Usually we all attack the same area, but we find ourselves scattered. They move freely around the lake, aiming at their favorite spots.
