- Are there any outer rocks you would like to climb?
Fujita:There is a crazy amount of it. I have been trekking for about 8 years now , but I started climbing about a year and a half ago. There are so many places I want to go.
Alan:. Even a single rock has several challenges (courses), so you can have fun.
Fujita:Now is probably the most enjoyable time of the year. It's a totally different kind of fun than trekking.
- It seems to me that the sense of accomplishment from climbing a mountain is greater than that from trekking to the summit.
Alan:Your whole body will shake.
Fujita:. the sense of accomplishment is great, but the fear is also great. In a bouldering gym, there is a mat wherever you fall, but on the outer rock, there is not always a mat at the drop-off point.
- Indeed . That's a tense situation.
Fujita:In a bouldering gym, if you grab the goal hold with both hands, that's your goal, but on the outer rock, you have to get on top of the rock to reach the goal. Climbing over is the scariest part.
Alan:. you have to raise your feet to about hand height. . also, in the summer, it's humid and the rocks are damp and slippery from sweaty hands.
Fujita:So, the best time to climb is in the winter, when it is drier.

Fujita:I would like to try climbing a stream someday. . I am interested in climbing a stream because it is a traditional Japanese mountain game. . I want to become a cool adult like my seniors who have experienced various mountain games.
Alan:I would like to be able to play anywhere on the mountain.
