Not only fishing, but also sightseeing.

Fishing time was over, but the time was only 5:00 p.m. . In an attempt to fill the emptiness of my fishing trip, I went to "Lake Akan Ainu Kotan" located near the lake. This is a place where you can experience the traditional culture of the Ainu people. There are restaurants where you can eat Ainu cuisine, stores selling Ainu handicrafts, facilities where you can experience Ainu culture, and a theater where you can watch Ainu folk dances, so you can learn about the Ainu people from various perspectives and have fun.

Komatsu:I became interested in Ainu culture through "Golden Kamuy. . When I see Ainu patterns and hand-carved woodwork, I realize once again that I have come to Hokkaido.

Mr. Morita greeted us at Epoepo , one of the stores we stopped by. In the back of the store, he handcrafts wooden items, including ikupasui, ritual implements used by the Ainu tribe in their ceremonies, to his own original design.
The first day ends with a warm welcome from all the shopkeepers . Ichikawa joins us , and we take a rest to move early in the morning for another day of trout.
