Minori Nakata

Born in Tochigi Prefecture. While working as a model for magazines and advertisements, her love of animals led her to launch her own pet brand, "Ouida," in 2023. Her dog Hachi is 2 years old. She is also a gamer and recently became addicted to "VALORANT.

More than 300 days of the year are in Camper.

When did you and "Camper" first meet?

Nakata:It was about two years ago. A friend of mine is friends with someone from Camper, and I went with her when she went to the press room. I tried them on for the first time there, and they were so good that I bought them.

What was it that made such an impression on you, Mr. Nakata?

Nakata:The model I bought then had a really cute sole and it was love at first sight. They are also very comfortable. Since then, I have bought many more pairs, and now I wear "Camper" shoes 300 days out of 365. I wear them so much that I think my friends think I only have that pair of shoes (laughs).

I know that "Camper" has a strong image of leather shoes, but are they something you can wear every day?

Nakata:Leather shoes are heavy and tiring, so I don't want to wear them," he says, "but Camper shoes are different. Even when I go for a walk, I wear "Camper" shoes. They are that comfortable and light.

. It means that they can be worn as casually as sneakers.

Nakata:It really is. . and they are soft from the start. The sandals I am wearing today would normally hurt at the instep if they were leather sandals, but that is not the case at all.

What is important when buying shoes?

Nakata:Nowadays, I care more about comfort than design. In the past, I used to buy shoes based on design, ignoring the ease of walking and the comfort of the foot, but in the end, I gave up on those shoes right away.

Yes, that may be true.

Nakata:Of course, design is important. Comfort is even more important. As a result, my house is full of "Camper" (laughs).

Do you know anyone around you who wears them?

Nakata:Not many, but a while ago, my sister got the model I have always worn, and now she wears them all the time.

Once you put them on, you can't get out of them.

Nakata:I think you have that feeling. . because that's what I am, actually. I like it so much already that I've taken the liberty of proselytizing (laughs).

Mr. Nakata's "Camper" shoes, which he purchased for the first time in 2022, have increased in number since then. He has a wide variety of shoes, from boots to sandals. Eventually, I think Camper will take over my shoe closet (laughs).
