I like that it doesn't look "waterproof".
How do you feel about the actual comfort of the shoes?
Yanaginuma:They look light at first glance, but they are properly folded and stable. The outsole grips well and has a certain degree of firmness. If they were too soft, they would shake and tire.
What about the design aspect?
Yanaginuma:I like the mesh lining and the fact that it does not have a "waterproof" look. The combination of different materials is interesting, and the simple logo is also a nice touch.
Do you usually loosen the laces when you put on and take off your sneakers?
Yanaginuma:I don't loosen them. I wear them loose in a size that I don't have to untie every single shoe lace. So I appreciate the quick shoe lace detail. I have a problem with a high instep, but these don't tighten so they conform to my foot shape.
It is not only waterproof but also moisture permeable.
Yanaginuma:I work standing up, so when I come home after standing all day, sometimes the insides of my shoes are moist (laughs). (Laughs) I think the moisture permeability function is promising for the coming rainy season and summer.
Lastly, what are the key points of today's styling?
Yanaginuma:The sneakers are all black, so I put them together in a gradation of black, gray, and white from the bottom. I was surprised, in a good way, to see such a thick silhouette in these pants from Descente Ortelaine when I was browsing EC. The sneakers are sleek, so I tried to give them a bit of edge with the thick pants. Also, I don't like to match high-tech sneakers with sports-style clothes. I often wear jackets in my job, so I chose a plain white shirt to go with it.
