DAY 1
It's so easy to catch fish!

Fishing on this embankment was a shoulder break. . First, we decided to explore what kind of fish we can catch and how we can catch them. . We use lures to lure bluefish and bait to catch root fish. For the lure, we used a metal jig weighing about 80 g, aiming for big fish. Rods and reels are tough enough to handle big fish . Bait fishing is done by "bukkomi-guri," a simple device consisting of a weight and a hook. After casting lightly, the angler simply sinks the bait to the bottom and waits for a bite. Mackerel fillets and squid are used as bait.

Early on, the tips of Ishii's and Ikemoto's bukkomi-rods were pulled into the sea, and they were hit one after the other. The fish caught was a moray eel, which is so ferocious that its bite can cause serious injury. Despite being an uninvited guest, I feel a positive response to my first fish on Hachijojima.
Mr. Murayama and Mr. Murata are targeting kampachi and sunfish with lures. . However, the wind was strong and the sea was rough, so the response was not good. They decided to switch to bukko-gomi fishing. Then, as soon as they did that, they caught a fish!

A beautiful red grouper is in Murayama's possession. . It is a fish that lives in the warm sea and can be eaten with all the extra flavor. Incidentally, it is said that grouper change sex from female to male as they grow up. . Fish are interesting.

On Komatsu's rod, which he was bukkomiing, was an ishigaki pufferfish with a cute face and spines. Like the red grouper, it seemed to live in a warm environment, making us realize that we had come to Hachijojima. Ishii was the next to speak out.

The pattern is beautiful , but it looks poisonous to see ....... It is a poisoned fish. . as I thought, it looks like it has poison in its guts.

And Mr. Murata caught a turban pufferfish, which was of fine size and had a strong pull. . It was like an aquarium, seeing fish one after another that we had never seen before. Such creatures also appear as a matter of course.

Tension exploded in the wild sea turtles! . But I saw them so many times that I got used to seeing them.
After that, we moved to a different spot and fished again. After getting a good feel for the abundance of fish on Hachijojima, we all retired to the fishing grounds to prepare for the next day's fishing. After doing some research at a fishing tackle shop, getting some gears, and getting some food at a supermarket, the day was over.
