Good time in the morning , serious lure choice.

Even at 5:30 a.m., the time of departure, the temperature is over 20 degrees Celsius. . The boat is slowly driven upstream, taking in the view of the surrounding mountains, which are now deepening in green. Our first destination was the upper reaches of the river. We were aiming for a point with a proven track record for largemouth bass, but it seemed that a tournament was being held that day, and the other anglers were aiming for the same thing.

Ishii:It looks like a bunch of strong guys are participating in the tournament , and the fish seem to be wary of them. . Since I'm a fisherman who is all about catching fish, regardless of size, I use a worm to catch them anyway.
Tsujii:Kameyama Lake has a lot of bluegill, so we will use the popular gill-shaped worm free-rigged here as well. . This worm also catches well in Lake Sagami.
Hiramoto:I have no idea where the fish are, so I'm going to search first with a jerkbait that I can explore quickly.
Komatsu:. It seems that recently at Kameyama Lake, I've been catching fish on surface lures and insect worms, so I'm going to give it a try.

When I arrived upstream, there was already a big crowd with a line of anglers ahead of me. I tried to catch a small bass swimming near the shore, but they were not interested in me. . We decided to go to a different point. . Well, it was still early in the morning when the fish were still active, and my expectations were still high.
It was getting hot enough to sweat lightly, but as usual, small bass were swimming comfortably in the shallows. Members of the group were exploring the shoreline while the boat was in motion.

Tsujii:I like big baits so I threw them , but no feel. I think they are definitely lurking in cover, so I'm going to stick to hitting cover.
Yoshitsugu:The visible bass are chasing the lure for a bit, but they are not biting. . but it feels great to be on a boat for the first time in a long time. . It's totally different from being on a boat in the ocean, and the mountain scenery is soothing.

Ishii:. throwing a straight worm or shad tail with no sinker. . I am once again realizing that the bass rod can deliver more delicate movements to my hand than the 5-meter-long rock rod I used the last time I was on Hachijojima.
Hiramoto:. As before, I continue to use a roll-up lure to see what happens, and use a big bait in some places. The people participating in the tournament seemed to be throwing lighter lures, so I tried using lures that no one else was throwing to see how they reacted.
Komatsu:. I'm going to try throwing a frog , or dropping an insect worm. . Anyway, I want to catch fish and put my heart and soul into my new Black Label spinning rod.
