FACE and SHINKNOWNSUKE's idea of game synergy.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the "Monster Hunter" series, the hunting action game known for its popular "Let's go hunting! To commemorate this anniversary, the first collaboration with PUMA was realized. Games and fashion are now building a synergistic friendship, but how much influence do they have on each other? We asked artists FACE and SHINKNOWNSUKE, members of the game team "DHC (Dekoboko Happy Club)" made up of creators, about games, starting with the collaborative collection.

Virtual and real-world fashion.

-Do you change the costumes of the characters you operate?

SHINKNOWNSUKE: Titles that have been played for many years are free to update. So I thought I would pay for them by charging occasionally. It's not like each one costs thousands of yen, and I've been charged about 2,000 yen for a few months.

FACE: Shin-san and Numano-kun (editor, DHC member), you are charging and changing your clothes.

SHINKNOWNSUKE: Titles that have been played for many years are free to update. So I thought I would pay for them by charging occasionally. It's not like each one costs thousands of yen, and I've been charged about 2,000 yen for a few months.

FACE: That may be true. If I don't find a design that I like, I'll go the other way and dress up really crazy. In multiplayer, you don't see people in default costumes. When you look at them, you can tell what they like. I can tell if someone likes military.

-In the past few years, there have been more and more collaborations between games and fashion, and sometimes items used in games become actual products. What are your thoughts on such collaborations between games and fashion?

SHINKNOWNSUKE: I think you should do more. In the last few years, fashion and games have become more accessible.

FACE: Everyone liked the game, but I feel like there is a trend to say it out loud.

SHINKNOWNSUKE: That's right. Compared to the past, games are no longer something to sneak around in.

FACE: Recently, I think it has become easier to wear game apparel because of the popularity of Japanese anime on vintage T-shirts.

-That's for sure. The younger generation in particular is likely to adopt it well without resistance.

FACE: To be honest, many apparel products made by game production companies are difficult to wear from a fashion point of view. However, if it is a collaboration with Puma, a company that understands fashion, the designs and silhouettes are good. In a good sense, there are designs that are not recognizable at first glance as "Monster Hunter" collaborations. I think that designs that are recognizable to those who understand them are even easier to wear.

-The "Suede Vintage" design is also unnoticeable as a "Monhan" collaboration, but in a good way.

SHINKNOWNSUKE: The monsters designed on the foam strips look like Japanese patterns. The gold also looks like gold leaf and works well.

FACE: If I buy these shoes, it would be interesting to wear them in the game.

SHINKNOWNSUKE: If you own shoes even in the game, you will be doubly satisfied. I think games and fashion will be more deeply connected in the future. Like the Metaverse, we can create a community in an imaginary space. There are only possibilities.

FACE: The more immersive the game and your body are linked, the more you will want to focus on the fashion in the game. And then you could release them in the real world and make them wearable. It would be interesting to have "Monhan Now" with Apple Vision Pro.
