We interviewed the two designers, who are both delicate and strong at their core, to find out more about their contradictory charms.
-What kind of image do you two have of "Jouette," which specializes in neutral designs?
Nakajima: It has an ennui but healthy impression, and I think it is the perfect brand for people like me who like to wear mannish outfits.
Yanagi: I have an image that the design is simple and easy for men to wear. I think it would be easy to choose a matching design with a loved one and wear it without embarrassment.
Nakajima: It's nice to have designs that can be worn together. Sometimes we exchange rings. I long for that kind of frank relationship.
-What kind of jewelry do you two usually wear?
Nakajima: I wear a thin bracelet and a pinky ring every day. I don't have a lot of jewelry, so I often have feelings or reasons for wearing them... I tend to use the ones I choose with a lot of care for a long time.
Yanagi: I recently acquired my first piece of gold jewelry. It's a stone ring, and I instinctively liked it the moment I held it in my hand.
Nakajima: In my mind, gold jewelry has an image of being a bit mature, and I have never worn it because I "don't like to eat it. If I meet a fateful ring like Mr. Yanagi, or if I have some other chance, I may try it.

What is your favorite design from the limited-edition winter collection "blanche" that you wore this time?
Yanagi: I have never worn ear cuffs before, so this was a new experience for me. They are light and comfortable to wear, which is good for people like me who do not have pierced holes. The heart motif is also very casual, so even men can wear them without hesitation.
Nakajima: I was struck by a necklace with a small heart motif and a single diamond. I like to decorate my chest casually with a delicate necklace. Also, the gray diamonds have a chic sparkle, so I thought it would be easy to wear even if I tend to wear casual clothes.
Yanagi: The Y-shaped necklace I wore also had gray diamonds, but they were not too shiny, so it was very easy to wear.
-What do men look for when choosing jewelry?
Yanagi: For example, if it is a ring, you might be able to get used to it by layering several rings. If it is a set, like the ring I wore today, I am happy because I can easily layer them. I think it goes well with the fashion of the day.
Nakajima: Yanagi-san has an image of dressing stylishly in vintage clothes, so he seems to be good with jewelry as well.
