Less than 8 minutes packed with the evolution and development of Breakin.
Hip-hop celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023 after its birth in the Bronx, USA. Breakin' is one of the components of hip-hop, and so is its history. However, few people have a deep understanding of breakin' history.
JBL, which has been supporting the breakin' scene with professional sound for the past four years in an ongoing partnership with Shigekix, has produced a film that looks back on the early days of breakin' in Japan to the present.
Although the decision to make breakin' an official Olympic event was the trigger, there were no historical recordings of any genre in Japanese street history, and with the arrival and success of Shigekix, a full-scale documentary film was finally produced. Featuring dancers from each era, from the pioneers of the 80's to the stars of today, the film is an unprecedented work of art with rare testimonies and footage of the time. The film is full of noteworthy points of interest, including breakin and music that changed with the changing times.
