Congratulations on the opening of your new store. Have you always wanted to open a store in Harajuku?
Konno: Thank you very much. The desire to do a street store has always been in my mind. Until the end of last year, I had a store in Shibuya Parco, and I had been allowed to do pop-ups on the first floor of Parco several times. The reason why I decided to open a store on Harajuku's Ton-chan Street this time is largely because I felt the explosive power of the street, or the power of the street surface, at that time, and my feelings were encouraged by it. However, despite my feelings, I couldn't find any housing at all. I had greeted several real estate agencies, but several months passed without finding a good place. At that time, Kazutoshi Yamada, the president of Belle Belgin, which also has a store on Tonchan-dori, contacted a real estate agency he was familiar with and introduced me to this property.
There used to be a long-established Italian restaurant here, wasn't there?

Konno: Yes, that's right. It seems that this was the oldest store on the street, and I felt a strong connection with it. Personally, I find properties that have been in business for a long time more attractive than those where tenants change frequently.
Were you looking for a place in Harajuku?
Konno: That's right. Harajuku is also close to our office, and there are many vintage clothing stores that we have been patronizing, so I had a strong emotional attachment to the area. I have been going to Harajuku since I was a student. At that time, I had a routine of going to a club on Saturday night, going to a flea market in Yoyogi Park in the morning, browsing the vintage clothing stores on Takeshita-dori, and then visiting the vintage clothing stores on Tonchan-dori.
