A relaxing and luxurious shopping experience. Goldwyn Marunouchi has relocated and renewed.

Goldwin, which has been increasing its presence globally, seems to be making its global presence even more evident.

One of them is the relocation and renewal of Goldwyn Marunouchi. Following the relocation of "Goldwyn Kyoto," the store was designed by Mr. Michiyuki Sakakida of Shinsozai Kenkyujo (New Materials Research Institute).

The first store in Tokyo created by him will continue from the "Goldwyn Beijing" opened in 2021, and will incorporate a salon space where customers can enjoy shopping at a leisurely pace. The space concept by "New Material Laboratory" is as follows.

The Marunouchi store also features the concept of "accumulation of 'Chi'", which is a combination of "Chi", the geological stratum that is the beauty of formations created by nature over a long period of time and exposed to the wind, and "Chi", the layers of knowledge and expertise that Goldwyn has long pursued and cultivated.
The facade facing Marunouchi Naka-dori Avenue is designed with a vertically extending bamboo plank to emphasize the height of the ceiling, and the interior space is divided by a wall to make the limited space more spacious. The front window and salon are made of bamboo and paulownia wood, as in the Kyoto store. The bamboo, which grows strong and supple without breaking even when exposed to the wind, and the paulownia, which grows into a large tree, were inspired by the auspicious paulownia-take-phoenix pattern. The walls of the fitting and salon space located in the back of the building are made of beautiful quarter-sawn paulownia wood with a sense of tension that accentuates the clean atmosphere, expressing the "Dedication to Detail" that is the brand's creed. The space is composed of a series of rooms, each with its own unique design. In terms of spatial composition, the salon functions as a calm and private shopping room when in use, and creates a sense of openness when the curtain partitions are removed.
The black leather iron sheets used on the walls are made of a material that deepens its flavor with the passage of time, based on the idea that the fluctuation of the surface pattern that naturally appears when firing iron can be likened to "wind. In front of the large counter table in the center, which draws the eye from the street, plants are arranged to represent the reduced form of nature. The plants, which change from day to day, symbolically represent the brand, which accepts things brought in from the outside on the wind and grows by nourishing them.
Wind can also be felt through the sense of hearing. We designed the original speaker based on the image of sound spreading throughout the space on the wind. The "Ukouku" speaker does not concentrate the sound of the three tiers at a single point, but delivers a gentle and homogeneous "wind of sound" to any location, like a circular chant that follows and overlaps the same melody, filling the entire space with a rich resonance.
The expression of the "ground" as time ticks away and the brand's quest for "knowledge" that constantly seeks evolution are woven together by the presence of the "wind" that crosses the space. By harmonizing the depth of time as told by the materials and the solid will embedded in the details, we aimed to convey the spirit of the brand, to breathe new wind into the hearts of visitors, and to express the future of Goldwyn, which continues to change with the times.

In addition to items from all of the Goldwyn categories, the store is also pre-selling the first "Goldwin Zero" performance collection with a trail running theme. Based on heat maps calculated from solar radiation and perspiration data, the items with numerous reflective vents are perfect for the coming season. For details, please check at the store.
