A classic product of a royal brand is still good. They have a long history, reliable specifications, and never get boring no matter how old they get. However, this is a series of articles for those who are a little bit gullible. We will introduce you to some of the lesser-known, yet very appealing products of that brand. The 11th issue is a minor good from Fresh Service.

Every season, there is a brand that releases a variety of clothes with an elaborate twist. Some brands change their designs so drastically that you wonder, "Wasn't this brand like this? Some brands change their designs so drastically or even their genres so much that you wonder, "Was this brand ever like this? On the other hand, there are also brands that repeat a season with only a few updates without changing the axis that they have decided on.
Fresh Service" is definitely the latter. In an interview, director Takayuki Minami said that he resisted the idea of producing something different every season, and both Fresh Service and Graph Paper, which he works on, have a clear and unwavering belief in their clothes making. Perhaps that is why I get the impression that both Fresh Service and Graph Paper have deep-rooted fans.
This season's Fresh Service lineup, however, is a little different.
Micro fleece coverall
¥17,600
Fresh Service's theme for this season is "heavy duty.
Heavy duty refers to a style of fashion that became popular in the United States in the 1970s. It originated when soldiers returned home with backpacks after the Vietnam War and later shifted their lifestyle from the city to nature. What they wore also became more authentic, and illustrator Yasuhiko Kobayashi brought this style to Japan, starting a boom in the country. To put it simply, "heavy duty" refers to items and styles that eliminate ornate decorations and leave behind authentic features that are adaptable to the outdoors.
So it is no wonder that "Fresh Service," which believes that "clothes = tools," has arrived at this point. Without further ado, let us introduce a group of items that stand out from the rest of this collection.
Coveralls have been a staple of the brand for many years, but this season they are made of fleece and come in primary colors. This season, however, the coveralls are made of fleece in a primary color, a vivid blue with red snap buttons. The brand has made a bold attempt in choosing outdoor-inspired colors instead of navy, khaki, and light blue, which would be the usual color palette. However, don't worry, the sizing and silhouette are the same as always from Fresh Service.
Micro Fleece Adjustable Pants
¥15,400
These easy pants are also made of micro fleece. While the design is minimalist, they are also perfectly functional, with drawcords at the waist and hems, just like regular easy pants. While the color scheme is based on red, the detailed parts are decorated in blue, which shows the brand's playful spirit.
Micro Fleece Mittens
¥7,900
Cute mittens that remind you of your childhood are also from this season's collection. Also made of micro fleece, these mittens softly wrap around your hands. The top of the mitten can be folded back to reveal the fingertips, making it easy to operate a cell phone or do other small tasks.
Snap buttons are provided so that the left and right sides can be attached for storage when not in use. There is a big difference between adding or not adding these small features, but "Fresh Service" adds them. It is as expected.
These are just some of the items introduced here, but there are many other items that pay homage to the heavy-duty style, such as anoraks and mountain parkas. However, none of them follow the entire culture of that era, but rather are produced with a selection of items that is typical of "Fresh Service". The collection does not push past fans away, but rather pulls them into new areas. This collection shows the spirit of Mr. Minami.
Location note: This is the room of a man who is currently unemployed due to various reasons. The day before the shooting, he participated in a Beyblade tournament.
