A classic product of a royal brand is still good. They have a long history, reliable specifications, and never get boring no matter how old they get. However, this is a series of articles for those who are a little bit gullible. We'll introduce you to a brand that is actually unknown to you, but that you'll find very appealing. In this twelfth installment, we introduce Keen's "Minor Goods.

Keen" is known for its sandals. It's a well-known fact, and if you look around festival venues in Japan, you'll be surprised at the overwhelming support for the brand.
Twenty-two years after their establishment, they have established an unshakable position with a single pair of sandals, but in fact, behind the scenes, they have been producing shoes like these. The depths of their knowledge are unbelievable.
Gibson Mid ESD
¥21,450
Keen's work line has been secretly supported in the field since it was launched around 2011. They are popular not only for dangerous field work, but also for hobbies that require the use of tools and for disaster relief. They also conform to ASTM international safety standards, so you can trust your feet in their hands with peace of mind.
These are leather shoes that look ordinary at first glance, but they are loaded with features. The upper is full-grain leather with a special treatment to resist stains and scratches.
The sole area is also the strongest in the lineup. It has an ESD standard sole that dissipates static electricity, a rubber outsole that is heat resistant up to 300°C (572°F) and an "OIL&SLIP RESISTANT non-marking rubber outsole" that is slip and melt resistant, a midsole that is lightweight and compression resistant " KEEN.ReGEN. midsole" and the insole has dual density for comfort and fit. The toes are of course safe with the brand's own new carbon safety toe guard.
Work shoes like these are often so focused on functionality that they look a bit disappointing, but Keen is a genius at incorporating them into everyday use. The design is just like an ordinary leather shoe.
Evanston Pull-On Waterproof
¥28,050
This model also has the same features as the previous model. It is resistant to both heat and shock, and comfortable to wear.
What's different is the cement construction for flexible, lightweight performance. It features a nylon shank for improved midfoot support, is 100% non-metallic so it can pass through metal detectors in high-security areas, and has temporary protectiveness if it accidentally comes in contact with an energized power distribution circuit.
It has specs to suit the field, but also has details reminiscent of western boots. If this is the case, it looks good with work-derived pants such as denim, chinos, and cargo pants.
PTC Slip-on Two
¥20,900
Slip-ons are often worn by clerks at restaurants and flower shops. In the hands of Keen, they can be worn around town like this.
While it has the same functionality as the two previous models, it should be noted that the "KEEN.WET TRAX" outsole is slip-resistant, even on wet surfaces. Also, thanks to the "LUFTCELL midsole," which combines two types of PU with different hardness, it is air-infused and comfortable, as if it is free from gravity. Above all, the chunky, chubby form is adorable.
There are many specialized shoes in the world, but because of their characteristics, they are usually bought by a specific user and that is the end of the story. However, Keen's work shoes are flexible enough to deliver to the people who need them while at the same time paying attention to the general public. Not only in the field, but also in urban life, difficulties and dangers are bound to occur. A reassuring pair of work shoes will serve you well in your daily life.
Watch out for "Keen" that isn't sandals in the future.
Location note: A stylist's office. There are so many things that it is difficult to pass by people.
