A masterpiece. It is a term used to describe an outstanding work of art. If it is an object, it is a gem that everyone would want to have at least one. There are several items that are so called, and "MICHAEL" by "Paraboot" is one of them. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the birth of these masterpiece shoes, and many people in the fashion industry and in our editorial department are loyal users.
There are a number of points that make us want to talk about the design of the upper alone, such as the oil-rich Liswaxy leather (Lisse is French for Lisse, meaning smooth), not to mention the design that was inspired by Tyrolean shoes. But perhaps that alone would not have been enough to call it a masterpiece. In addition to the above, we would like to call it a masterpiece if we include the fact that it is the only shoe manufacturer in the world to use its own rubber sole, which is made by the Norwegian manufacturing method, which is also used for mountaineering shoes and is robust enough to allow sole replacement.
And to be called a masterpiece, it is also important to be able to be worn for many years. In the case of leather shoes, this means comfort and maintainability. I am sure that many people have had the experience of replacing soles and finding that the comfort of the shoes has become something else, but you can rest assured that Paraboot has original soles and a repair system in place. Since we had a pair of "MICHAEL" shoes in our editorial office that were just about due for a sole replacement, we asked the directly-managed store to replace the sole with an original sole.
Before sole replacement. The shoes were worn about 4 times a week, and the sole grooves were gone, and even the midsole was worn down.
After sole replacement. The soles are clearly cleaner and the volume that is typical of "MICHAEL" has returned. By the way, did you know that the soles of men's and women's shoes are different?
After depositing the shoes, I waited for about two months. When I looked at the shoes that arrived, I saw that the corners of the soles were crisp and totally different! The midsole has been replaced and polished, and they look much more attractive than new. Only leather items that have been used for a long time have a certain taste. The cushioning and grip typical of "Paraboot" have also been restored.
The repair time may vary depending on the stock status of the parts, but it seems to take about this long to complete the repair, so if you are in trouble, please contact our directly-managed store. Incidentally, the owner of these shoes left these words in 2020 when he purchased them. Personal feelings are also one of the conditions that make us want to cherish and use them for a long time.
If the main restaurant is crowded, you will be guided to the second restaurant. It's a common thing, isn't it? Of course, I am talking about izakaya, but I prefer the main restaurant. Because it is the main restaurant, it is obvious that the restaurant's beliefs are understood in every corner of the restaurant.
But something happened recently that made me think that might not be the case.
Paraboots' Mikael is a masterpiece of Tyrolean shoes. It is said that Hermès used fur and had them custom-made. Someone who is like a muse to me wears them, and I had half an ulterior motive of wanting to be close to her, and half a tall motive of wanting to buy shoes with nervousness. I decided to buy them.
Just as I was planning to visit the main Aoyama store, I happened to see it at a select store I stopped by and decided to just try it on.
While flinching at the unfamiliar number (price) on the tag, I was impressed by the absolute sincerity of the product that was worthy of it. The weight of the brand's 100 years of accumulated experience pierced my brain through the nerves in my legs.
As I was about to drown in such emotion, an oddly aged female clerk spoke to me. She was a seasoned veteran who must have been born not long after the brand was founded. She was wearing hard, wide denim, a short knit, a soft shirt peeking out from around her neck, and her gray hair tied back in a single bun, in an uncompromising style. He did not offer any customer service, but rather a piece or two of advice based on his many years of experience.
Oh, I want to buy here already. My first born feelings about shoes and a shocking encounter with the store staff overturned my stubborn commitment to the main store.
I would have said I was still green, but I was not. I didn't have the courage to make a quick decision on a big purchase on the spot. That's how it ended up. But Mikael is the best, and it's fun to buy things at the store, isn't it?
