That familiar character has finally been made into a picture book. Artist Koichi Yairi, whose paintings are reminiscent of cartoon animation, will release a collection of his works entitled "Obake no Moony.
Yairi's solo exhibitions are characterized by the fact that each body of work becomes a story. This newly released book contains all the stories from the five solo exhibitions held in London, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Hong Kong, and Shibuya.
Moony, who has been living a carefree life in the world of ghosts, causes a great commotion by an accident, and spends his time with fun friends while traveling to outer space. These days are depicted with pictures and stories.
The book was designed by Kaoru Kuzu⻄, whom Yairi admires. It can be read in both Japanese and English.
An opening reception will be held at "Ginza Tsutaya GINZA ART SQUARE" on November 29 (Sat) from 18:00 to 20:00. Commemorative exhibitions and fairs will also be held.
