Glasses are a tool to correct vision and an item that is related to a person's skin and lifestyle. From a fashion point of view, trends tend to be considered important, but it is also important to choose a pair of spectacles that you will be attached to.

The new brand "MAIN," scheduled to launch on December 13 (Sat), features a lineup of items that are universal and functional, and that are designed to be enjoyed even as they change over time. The design is by Hayato Teshima, a longtime buyer at the eyewear select store "POKER FACE.

Mr. Teshima continues to pursue a unique balance based on frames from the 1930s to 1960s, which he prefers. He personally traveled to Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, where the frames were produced, and worked closely with craftsmen to create the frames. Here are the three models completed by combining original parts and special materials.

Lancaster ¥44,000

Lancaster" is a sampling of handmade English frames from the 1930s. It has a slightly different shape at the top than the French-rooted crown punt, and the height of the yoloi connecting the temples is lower.

Romme ¥44,000

Romme" is based on French frames made in the 40's, which the designer says is his favorite, and the lines are made as thin as possible. The unique design of the nose rising inward is also unique to the vintage eyewear on which it is based.

Sandy ¥44,000

Furthermore, based on a frame manufactured by an American brand in the 1950s, the rim line of "Sandy" was made as thin as possible. By drawing the outer and inner diameters in different lines, the original ball shape was completed.

For the rivets, silver for its vintage-like flavor, brass for its color that changes with age, and copper for its ruggedness are used. The fact that the parts are applied in such a way that they will gain in flavor as they are used is also a point not to be overlooked.

Based on vintage eyewear from overseas, but with a finely crafted originality. Each piece of eyewear is carefully crafted in Sabae, a famous production center of eyewear, using beautifully modern curves and straight lines.
