Breakdancing (breakdancing) has been gaining momentum in recent years. In fact, there are a number of world-class breakdancers in Japan, and several world-class competitions have been held.
The FUJIFILM instax™ Undisputed Kyoto, to be held on Saturday, June 20, is one such event. The winner will participate in the World Finals in Brazil.
This competition is held as a regional qualifier for the year-long World Championship "FUJIFILM instax™ Undisputed". This season, starting with Kyoto, Japan, regional qualifiers will be held in the Netherlands, China, Ghana, and India, with the winner of each event qualifying for the World Finals to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in March 2027.
This is the first time that "FUJIFILM instax™ Undisputed" will be held in Kansai. The location of the event was chosen to be in the Kyoto Station Building, an easily accessible location. Spectating is free of charge. It is a good place to watch seriously or just drop by as it is held in an open space.
There are four categories: men's solo, women's solo, 5-on-5 crew, and a 3-on-3 junior crew (only the winner of the junior crew is invited to compete in Heerlen, the Netherlands), which is open to those under 16 years old.
The most notable of these are the crew battles, which originated in 1970s New York City with the idea of resolving conflicts through dance battles rather than violence. In the past, team battles as well as individual battles were held on the streets, and the intensity and excitement of these battles are unique in their own way.
At last season's World Finals held in Tokyo in March of this year, Body Carnival won the final between Russia's Outstanding and Japan's Body Carnival. And this season, Kyoto, where they are based, has been chosen as the venue, which means that Body Carnival is also planning to participate. It is a hot spot to watch the best dances in the world and anyone can challenge to be the best in the world.
In addition, Fujifilm's “instax™” “Cheki” will be a special sponsor from March 2022, and there will be a “Cheki™” photo booth at the venue. Original templates of the Breakin players will be provided, and the photographed Cheki prints™ will be available to take home as memories of the tournament. The recently released “Cheki” instax mini Evo Cinema™ can also be used to take videos, and it seems that Blaykin and the instax™ "Cheki" are a good match. The intertwining of these cultures is also something to keep an eye on.
