In the early 1950s, Jeanneret joined Corbusier in planning a new city (Chandigarh) in the Panjam region of northern India. After Corbusier left the project, Jeanneret remained as chief architect and took on the challenge of designing a comprehensive urban space, architecture, and furniture for Chandigarh.

On display in this exhibition is a series of furniture that Jeanneret created in his urban planning. This famous series is highly regarded in the history of design and has many fans because of its fusion of sophisticated modern design and Indian craft approach.
Jeanneret worked with local craftsmen in workshops that were not industrialized at the time, using locally available materials such as teak and rattan, simple designs, and manufacturing methods. The individual differences in the engravings and signatures are a testament to how many craftsmen worked together to create Jeanneret's furniture.
Thirteen chairs, including an office chair, and two tables will be exhibited in a space that resembles a room in the mansion Jeanneret built in the area. This will be an excellent opportunity to experience the creation of Jeanneret, a rare architect.
