It delved into the true value of the brand's products and was well receivedSeries: “Stone Island: A Study of Masterpieces”is making a comeback. Following our coverage of this year’s spring/summer season, we’ll be breaking down the must-have products for your fall/winter wardrobe in a four-part series starting now. Our model is Katsuya Maikuma, an actor who is active primarily in theater and film and exudes the charm of classic Japanese cinema.
The first installment will feature the “STONE ISLAND GHOST” capsule collection, which is based on the concept of “the ultimate urban camouflage.”
From the apparel to the brand’s iconic compass badge, this line features a unified monochromatic color scheme. Drawing inspiration from Brutalist architecture and military wear, the design—which has been stripped down to its bare essentials—embodies the brand’s uncompromising commitment to material research and innovative technology.
Everything, right down to the compass badge, was kept in a single color.
The three-dimensional hood can be adjusted with a drawstring.
The outerwear featured in this look is the “NYLON SMERIGLIATO JACKET,” which is made from a special stretch nylon terry fabric. Thanks to a unique brushing process, it has a soft, warm texture reminiscent of cotton—even though it’s made of nylon.
Combined with the brand’s signature garment-dyed technique, this creates a solid color with remarkable depth and richness. In addition to its high durability and lightweight design, the garment features a water-repellent finish and incorporates recycled materials in some parts, resulting in a product that offers both modern practicality and environmental sustainability.
This season's "Stone Island Ghost" collection features a range of other must-see products.
The “DAVID – TC JACKET” is a piece that epitomizes the brand’s technical expertise, achieved by successfully garment-dyeing and applying a water-repellent finish to a polyester-blend fabric—which is typically difficult to dye—under high pressure at 130 degrees. Although it features a PrimaLoft®-filled liner, it is machine-washable at home. Its versatility—with an overcoat-like silhouette that can be worn well into early spring—is another appealing feature. A black version of the same style is also available.
In addition, the “COTTON CANVAS PANT” is made from high-density woven organic cotton. Similar to so-called Ventile fabric, these pants achieve windproof and water-repellent properties without a coating by utilizing the material’s natural expansion. The practical use of zippers adds a stylish accent.
Next up is the “FELPA STRETCH COTTON SWEATSHIRT,” a sweatshirt made from fleece fabric using 95% organic cotton, featuring a striking military-style collar. When you actually slip it on, you’ll be amazed by its lightness and exquisite feel against the skin—it’s truly astonishing just how high a standard has set in the pursuit of comfort.
