The recently released "My Jeep®,My Life: How I live with my Jeep®. vol.22." featured Tomoyuki Tanaka of FPM, who has been active in music since the 1990s. In this article, we introduce some of Mr. Tanaka's special personal items.

Tomoyuki Tanaka (FPM) / DJ, Producer
He made his debut in 1997 with "The Fantastic Plastic Machine". In addition to his original works, he has produced and remixed many artists, and as a DJ, he has performed in all prefectures in Japan and about 60 cities around the world. His activities are not only limited to music, but he has also worked as an MD for a major apparel company and as an editor for a fashion magazine, and has a deep knowledge of watches, cars, and other things. He is also a well-known collector and enthusiast of vintage clothing.
This time, he showed us what he uses for driving, daily necessities, and items he uses when he visits vintage clothing stores. Tanaka's knowledge of not only music, but also fashion, is extraordinary. Let's take a look at some of his personal items.

Vintage short duffel
. "The Royal Navy short duffel from the British Army is a cardigan of sorts. This one is from the 1950s. . I wear this when it's a little chilly when I drive. Because it is short, I can sit in the car seat with it on.

Remake duffel bag
. "Based on an American post office bag, a store in Kumamoto remade it into a duffel. The original design had a lid, but we dared to remove it, so it is easy and convenient to put in and out of the baggage. Since it is originally a vintage item, it has an aged, worn look that I like.

PENDLETON Blanket
I think this item is from the '30s or so, but I like the blue trim because it's very unusual. I like it because it's very unusual. It's a very useful item to have around your feet when it's cold, or to put on your car seat.

PANERAI Antique Watches
. an original Panerai Radiomir made in 1938. . The face does not even have the brand name on it , commonly known as a nude type. . But that makes it highly legible and convenient while driving. Moreover, Rolex made the movement, and I'm proud of that as well."

Indian Jewelry by Mark Chee
. this is another old item from the 1940s. . I like the design with the presence of turquoise in the high dome. Turquoise and other natural stones are treated like amulets (laughs). (Laughs) Because of this, I sometimes wear them to ward off bad luck.

Leica Digital Cameras
. I've been into Leica for a couple of years now. . This is a Leica M. It's a digital camera. It's a digital camera, but I enjoy using vintage lenses with it. I can take very tasteful pictures with it. I can take good pictures with my smartphone these days, but I carry this camera with me as much as possible. I also take it with me when I go abroad.

Vintage news paperback
This is a newspaper delivery bag made in the U.S. in the 1930s or 40s. I carry this bag on my shoulder when I go to flea markets overseas, visit record stores, or browse secondhand clothing stores in Japan. The straps are wide, so even if I carry a heavy load, it will not dig into my shoulders. Even if I don't have any luggage, it is lightweight and I can wear it like an accessory, so it is very useful.

CD
I listen to music while driving on CDs. Digital music is at the height of its popularity, but I prefer to listen to music that I can hold in my hand as a product. I usually pick out a few CDs before I leave the house, depending on my mood that day, and take them with me. Today, I'm going to choose from Michael Franks to Naomi Chiaaki (laughs). (Laughs.) I choose them "on a whim," so they don't have any deep meaning to me.

Ray-Ban Sunglasses
. "Sunglasses are a necessity for driving on a nice day. . These are the current Wayfarers. I don't have very good eyesight, so I wear lenses with prescription lenses. The original lenses are round and curved, but these are flat. That combination is kind of fresh, isn't it?"

Beats by Dr. Dre headphones
. "I had my favorite headphones painted with a special graphic at a Beats event. I ordered them with the image of a Navajo artist's vase-like pattern. They are one-of-a-kind, one-of-a-kind headphones for me.
