The truck tarp is transformed into a one-of-a-kind design bag.FreitagThe company was founded in Zurich, Switzerland, by one of its founders, Markus Freitag. [ to Markus Freitag, one of the founders of the company, in Zurich, Switzerland. This articleI spoke with ] and was impressed by the fact that one of the brand philosophies is not to consume things but to use them for a long time. Moreover, I was impressed by the fact that this is not just a picture, but is being put into practice. So, what kind of things does he love to use? Please take a look at the items chosen by Marcus, who dislikes anything flashy, based on his own sense of aesthetics.
Map
I like to travel and go to many places, but I prefer analog maps. Of course, in this day and age, Google Maps are convenient and we use them, but the screen is small, right? With this map, I can easily see where I want to go at a glance, and it is easy to write something down or tell someone, for example. And, above all, it's beautiful. It folds up small enough to fit in your pocket, making it easy to carry around. In the end, I guess I like paper. I think the beauty of paper is that it is properly edited and has no extra information.
plastic model
As you can see, this has never been assembled (laughs). I see it as just one of the inspirations. I really like this graphic, but this character is a trucker, so it's a little different from my lifestyle (laughs). (laughs). In the sense of dividing things into parts and assembling them, I think it's similar to "Freitag. I like this kind of hard work, but for this one, I prefer to keep it in the box (laughs).
Freitag Tower building blocks
The building blocks are modeled after the Freitag Tower in the city of Zurich, or the container next to the store. The wood is made of maple tree (maple) and other trees. In general, children like them, so they were popular as gifts. The reason I use the past tense "was" is that it was a limited edition item and is no longer sold."
Toolboxes made in Japan
I bought this tool box at a Swiss DIY store called "FABRIKAT". It was probably made in Japan. I use it to fix my bicycle or to make prototypes of products. I like to have all the necessary things like this in one compact place, which I think is my character. In Switzerland, there are DIY stores, but the quality is not so good. I went there in Tokyo, and I envy Tokyu Hands. It's my favorite spot."
Things I like the shape of, Part 1
I have three folding bicycles, including one from a German manufacturer called Birdy that I have been riding for 15 years. Thus, he loves bicycles and has a bicycle play card (top right photo). The Japanese-made stapler (top center photo) can punch holes in paper to put together a bundle of paper without using a core. It was revolutionary because it was environmentally friendly and did not require the use of a core. SIMSON" is a puncture repair kit for bicycles.
Things I like the shape of, Part 2
They're all small and functional. The bicycle bells are in a different genre (laughs), but I like the simple design of all of them. Japanese cutters, thread scissors, etc., are also beautiful because their functionality is directly expressed in the form they take.
