The second issue of the magazine will be a design, lifestyle, and cultural exploration of happiness, optimism, friendship, insecurity, and jealousy through the lens of "yellow". We spoke with emerging artists such as Wang & Söderström, Zsofia Kollar, and Le Morandine, and collaborated with many very talented photographers, artists, and writers to create this issue. The 182 pages tackle social themes through conceptual and carefully edited essays, visuals, and thoughts, with keywords such as happy faces, inappropriate jokes, emojis, junk food, and blonde hair.
Color" is a seemingly abstract theme, but one that is close to our daily lives and can be approached from a variety of angles. We asked the staff behind the magazine about their thoughts on the magazine and the background of its production.
Why did you focus on "color"?
. everyone is affected by color, but few understand how powerful color can be and how much it can affect a person. . that's why 'Sindroms' highlights colors to cause emotional and mental turmoil. Whether or not we feel comfortable in a certain place is also strongly influenced by color. Through this magazine, we want people to understand the choices people make about color and the ways in which different designers, artists, chefs, and others use color in their work.
Do you feel that the Scandinavian lifestyle and values have any influence on "Sindroms"?
. of course. The standard Scandinavian colors are shades of white, black, gray, or beige . Sindroms is colorful, but its aesthetic is influenced by the Scandinavian style. We also try to pursue a conceptual, minimalist aesthetic.
Through the use of color, Sindroms magazine delves into not "information" such as the latest items that are updated daily, but rather into the more essential aspects of society and culture. Sindroms" is different from Japanese magazines, which tend to be "information magazines" that pass information from right to left. It is a pleasure to pause for a moment and immerse yourself in this conceptual and wonderful worldview.
