Presented in Paris this JanuaryDRIES VAN NOTEN's Fall/Winter 2018-19 men's collection. The marble print nylon coat that graced the finale of its runway show is finally available.
This striking design is the result of a traditional technique called "paper marbling," which is usually used for paper. Also known as "ebble," the technique involves dripping oil-based paint on the surface of water and using a special tool to stretch and scatter it to create various designs by copying the accidental patterns created. It is rarely used for textiles as in this case.
Dries Van Noten. The design team at MARBRING, Inc. sought out artisans who were willing to share their "marbling" skills and knowledge to help them use this technique on their textiles. They spent several days in the atelier of a London artisan to create 300 exclusive designs.
Only 10 patterns of nylon coats will be available this time. Moreover, they will be available for a limited time only at 10 carefully selected stores around the world. The stores include the Dries Van Noten flagship stores in Antwerp, Paris, and Tokyo, as well as Barneys in New York, Harvey Nichols in London, Le Form in Moscow, Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building in Tokyo, Lane Crawford in Hong Kong, Singapore's Club 21" in Singapore, and the online store "Mr. Porter.
The product will go on sale in Japan on August 8 (Wed.). Don't miss out on this gem that can only be created by Dries Van Noten, who has a strong focus on textiles.
