Wajima City is located on the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture. Many people associate the city with lacquerware, but it is also home to the famous terraced rice paddies called "Shirone-senmaida" ("thousand rice paddies"). These terraced rice paddies are so beautiful that they are called Japan's original landscape because of the way they change their appearance with the changing of the seasons.
“YASHIKIThe designer of the "K" brand hails from Ishikawa Prefecture. Every season, he incorporates scenes from his hometown into his products, and the knitwear he is releasing this time is inspired by the snow-covered Hakume-Senmaida rice field.
The waffle knit expresses snow falling on the ground, while the uneven knitted fabric in the center of the body expresses small rice paddies overlapping each other. The pattern is based on a kimono pattern, a staple of the Yashiki brand, to give the garment a soft, slightly sloping shoulder look when worn. The cuffs feature the brand's iconic yagasuri pattern. The knit is made of cotton, but the threads have been treated with a silken finish that gives them a silky sheen and bounce, giving them an elegant finish.
It is a piece of clothing that has a solid concept and many particulars as a stand-alone product. It is a little early, but how about this for autumn?
