At the press conference, he announced that due to safety concerns for the athletes and the management of the event, only the 170-kilometer UTMF will be held in 2019, and the 92-kilometer STY will not be held. Accordingly, the number of entries for the UTMF has been expanded to 2,400 (1,400 for the UTMF and 1,000 for the STY in 2018).
Although the STY, which was the gateway to the 100-mile race, will not be held, more people will be able to enjoy the 100-mile race than ever before, and the event will still be run in a stable manner.
Fuji Trail Runners Club, a non-profit organization, to strengthen its environmental activities.
