Around the 1930s, trucker jackets, or "jean jackets," began to be manufactured as work jackets to be worn with jeans. [JoonLevi's®.You may know that Levi's® invented blue jeans more than 140 years ago, but the trucker jacket is another iconic Levi's® product.
Trucker jackets are classified into TYPE I, TYPE II, and TYPE III from oldest to youngest, and their designs differ. TYPE III is the most popular of the three types, and is the prototype for the jean jackets we see everywhere today. The TYPE III, which was born in 1967, had a clean body due to three-dimensional cutting and used preshrunk denim, which had already been pre-shrunk, so it rapidly became popular among East Coast people and young people as a fashion item, in addition to the workers who had been the main customer segment. The brand has been in business for more than 30 years.
And in 2017, "Levi's®" will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its "Trucker Jacket TYPE III".
Prior to this, a pop-up featuring trucker jackets will be held at "THE PARK・ING GINZA" from December 1 (Thu) to 11 (Sun).
Here, we will focus on men's and women's models of the Trucker Jacket TYPE III, the Sherpa Trucker, which has Sherpa fabric applied to the body, collar and inside sleeves, and the Down Tracker, which uses the insulating material, Thermore®, from "Levi's® Vintage Clothing", The Trucker Jacket TYPE I-III, faithfully reproduced from the original design, and the Triple Pleated Blouse, the world's oldest denim jacket with pleats on the front, will be available in the reissue model.
In addition, as special contents, there will be an advance announcement of a trucker jacket collaboration commemorating the 50th anniversary and a customized menu exclusive to "THE PARK・ING GINZA".
The Sony Building, which houses THE PARK・ING GINZA, is scheduled to be rebuilt in 2017-18. And at the same time, the Sony Building will be rebuilt with a new building that will unravel the history of Sony design.Events like thisWe also do
