As the number of international travelers increases, the "Airbnb" private home-stay service is suddenly gaining momentum. Airbnb, which has created a new travel style by connecting hosts of vacant rooms with travelers, has finally moved on to the next phase of its development.
The first step in this process is Trips, a service launched today. This is one of the most significant developments in the company's eight-year history, going beyond lodging.
In simple terms, Trip is a service that allows you to enjoy and become more familiar with your travel destination. It is a people-driven platform designed to make travel easy and magical by bringing together all the places to stay, the activities to do, and the people to meet, all in one place.
Trips will launch with three main areas: Experiences, Places, and Homes, with Flights and Services to follow. It will launch with more than 500 "Experiences" in 12 cities worldwide (Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Detroit, Havana, London, Paris, Florence, Nairobi, Cape Town, Tokyo, and Seoul).
Let's look at "experience."
Experiences" are services that allow visitors to enjoy activities organized by local experts. For example, you will be able to enjoy a samurai swordsmanship workshop, truffle hunting in Tuscany, a classic car driving service in Malibu, or a grime music scene in London, all organized by local people.
And it's not just the experience that local experts offer.
The "Spots" section features the best local haunts and hot spots recommended by "Airbnb" hosts from around the world, from cafes to restaurants to parks and other attractions. For example, marathoners can tell you the best running trails, local bartenders can tell you the best bars, and up-and-coming chefs can tell you about the next great unknown restaurant.
In addition, through a partnership with Resy, a restaurant reservation platform, you will be able to book great local restaurants directly on the Airbnb app. It is said that you can never go wrong with a restaurant that is crowded with locals, and now you can quickly find such a restaurant.
And as in the past, "Home" will offer travelers a unique and diverse range of lodging options, with 3 million room reservations available in 191 countries around the world.
In addition, through the new "Trip Itinerary" feature, users can book and add trip itineraries and the aforementioned "experiences". Moreover, this feature is based on machine learning and will gradually evolve to allow users to experience the next generation of travel styles, where suggestions are made based on the location and recommendations during the trip, according to the individual and the situation.
For example, for readers of "Finamu," the service can be marketed by offering tours of famous vintage clothing stores or information on the hottest spots in town. Airbnb will make travel even more fun and interesting. There is no way to avoid using this service.
