A brand of knitwear produced in the Ryomo district of the northern Kanto region, where the textile industry has long flourished.YASHIKI. It is carried by all kinds of select stores, and items that go on sale often have to wait for restocking soon after they are released, establishing a firm position as a popular knitwear brand.
Yashiki is known for its Japanese aesthetic sense, and this season, too, the theme is based on a famous Japanese landmark: the Tedori River for the 2019 spring/summer season. The river is located in Ishikawa Prefecture and was once called "Ishikawa," which is also the origin of the prefecture's name. Patterns and details inspired by the landscape and culture of Ishikawa, the designer's home prefecture, have been incorporated into the knitwear.
The lineup ranges from thick, crew-neck knits that produce a classy sheen , to short-sleeved knits that are impressive for a fresh, spring/summer look. The various lineups covering cardigans and vests are sure to leave you in a state of confusion.
. Below are the designer's comments on this season.
There is a river with which we have long been familiar.
Its high-quality water has supported people's lives through agriculture and as water for daily use.
It was also called Ishikawa in ancient times, and there is an anecdote that it was the origin of the name of Ishikawa Prefecture.
That is the Tedori River
Back in the day, our playground was an irrigation ditch where we would stop after school.
Watching killifish, competing to see who can catch the biggest crayfish, etc.
Just floating around in a little boat made of leaves was so much fun that I could play with it forever until the sun went down.
I don't know when it started.
I got used to the common sight and am no longer aware of it.
When I returned home as an adult, I visited the irrigation canal for the first time in a long time.
It was made of concrete, and the crawfish, killifish, and other creatures were gone.
Maybe the children's playground has changed.
I didn't even see kids around the canal much.
I had no choice but to get on the train to go home.
The beautiful contrast between the sunset and the river seen from the car window was
It's still the same view I unconsciously saw every day.
The Tedori River was still there, unchanged from those days.
. Please refer to the look to find items that go well with your own outfits. This season's lineup has been stable, so be sure to go to the stores as soon as possible to research the items to avoid selling out!
