Right now Paris is in the middle of Men's Fashion Week. Brands from around the world are presenting their collections for the Fall/Winter 2019 season, which will be released in about six months, with runway shows and presentations.
One of the highlights of this year's event is alsoLOUIS VUITTONOn January 17, Virgil Abloh presented his second collection since taking office.
The inspiration for this year's show was, as Virgil had announced on Instagram, Michael Jackson. The stage was impressive with its image of a somewhat desolate New York street with dead leaves falling, and the live performance by Dev Hyson, a British music producer who also performs under the name Blood Orange, made the show even more atmospheric. In addition, graffiti artist Futura casually made an appearance. . who surprised the audience with a performance using sprays.
First up was a suit. The style consisted of layered jackets of different shapes, coordinated with loose-fitting pants, which can be said to be unique to Virgil. As before, the focus was on wide, loose silhouettes, but also coats and slacks in sharp, beautiful silhouettes. Among them, blousons that look as if they are stamped with a monogram, extremely oversized down vests, and handbags are particularly eye-catching. Furthermore, long shirts and coats with bold combinations of various national flags, sweatshirts and shirts printed with comical illustrations accentuate the overall look. On the feet, sneakers were again used in many styles.
Louis Vuitton's pop-up store in Harajuku, Tokyo, which carries Virgil's Spring/Summer 2019 collection, attracted a great deal of attention, with many people lining up on the first day it opened. We have a feeling that the collection presented at the store will also attract a lot of attention. Keep your eyes on Louis Vuitton and Virgil.
