Comme des Garcons x Ono Seigen. The 30th anniversary album of that milestone work is now available.

Do you know the musician Seigen Ono? He has worked as a recording engineer on projects for such eminent musicians as Ryuichi Sakamoto, Kazuhiko Kato, Oscar Peterson, and Miles Davis. No doubt he has made a name for himself even more than that.COMME des GARÇONS.for his music for the runway show at the

In 1987, Ono began working with Comme des Garcons in response to their request to use music that no one had heard before and that would make the clothes look beautiful. The musicians who participated in the project were Art Lindsay, Bill Frisell, and Jon Jone, all of whom were active in downtown New York in the 1980s.

The instrumentals range from jazzy and rhythmic to noble and atmospheric. They are fresh and modern even today. Released as albums in 1988 and 1989, they have attracted attention as well-known works in the fashion, music, and art scenes.

This time, we introduce the 30th anniversary album "Comme des Garçons Seigen Ono," remastered by Seigen Ono himself. In addition, "Comme des Garçons Fragmentation Seigen Ono," which contains previously unreleased sound sources, was also released on CD and LP at the same time.

Comme des Garcons Fragmentation Seigen Ono" includes a re-edited version of the actual sound of the show venue and a live performance that took place at the Comme des Garcons Osaka store in 2003.

The jacket designs for both pieces were created by Tsuguya Inoue, one of Japan's leading graphic designers. The impactful photograph of a raven was taken by photographer Tamaki Yoshida. The design is very Comme des Garçons-like, and is strong in its ability to attract the viewer.

In addition, an installation commemorating the release of the album is currently being held at the COMME des GARÇONS AOYAMA store. T-shirts with the jacket photo printed on them are also available on a limited basis.

These two albums are recommended not only for fans of Comme des Garcons, but also for fashion lovers. If you have not picked them up yet, you may want to listen to them carefully during the Golden Week holidays.
