Attachment and detachment. What does artist Mayumi Yamase see in the way things expand?

Artist Mayumi Yamase continues to create soft and fresh works of abstract paintings and soft sculptures.

The solo exhibition "HOW OBJECTS SPREAD" will be held at "NO.12 GALLERY". . The exhibition will feature drawings based on paintings, as well as new paintings.

The title "HOW OBJECTS SPREAD" = ( how things spread) is a sentence that was created by recalling the cell division and proliferation that occurs in the body.

Artist Statement
One thing increases to two , two things increase to four. Now four things increase to five, and five things increase to nine. There is no pattern to this series of increasing structures; they just keep spreading out. The increase and growth of cells and the metastasis of cancer to various places can be summed up in the same word "spread" (SPREAD). In this way, death and life are only different in the direction of their vectors, and in fact, + and - may be the same thing in the world. And even in such a world of microscopic and macroscopic cells that are 1/10,000 of one another, I wonder if there are emotional and impulsive relationships that are no different from ours, such as "this cell seems to go well together," "let's get a little closer together," or "it would be better if we kept a little distance.

. Here you will find a wide variety of structures created by various colors and shapes. In addition, we are accepting orders for the products produced with "MEDICOM TOY / FABRICK" at this exhibition, so please enjoy them as well.
