Maria Grazia was the first woman to hold this position, and her travels through the sea of savoir-faire led her to the graphical "Dior Oblique" canvas invented by Marc Boin in 1967. This was boldly , yet delicately embroidered into the "Book Tote" bag.
The "Book Tote," which required over 1.5 million stitches and 37 hours just to complete its canvas, dominated the celebrity spotlight as soon as it was introduced in the Spring/Summer 2018 collection.
The "ABCDior" personalization service, which allows customers to have their names or initials embroidered on the back of the bag, is also a highlight of this lineup of bags for women, but the simplicity of the design is not surprising for men. Kim Jones has even had her own name embroidered on her "Book Tote.
