Monkey 47 Experimental Series 2y01: Tokyo.
MONKEY 47 is a premium craft gin born in Germany. It attracts connoisseurs around the world with its mellow flavor created by 47 botanicals, including juniper, blackberry, elderflower, and fresh citrus fruits.
The newly launched Monkey Booze Lab, which experiments with state-of-the-art distillation technology and innovative aroma extraction methods, has now launched the Experimentum Series. The new gin is produced several times a year in small batches of 500 bottles each time. The first of these is "Monkey 47 ExperimentumSeries 2y01: Tokyo (MONKEY 47 ExperimentumSeries 2y01:Tokyo)" introduced here.
Alexander Stein, founder of Monkey 47
The most distinctive feature is the use of Sansho, one of Japan's representative spices, as a botanical, and the addition of Kobe beef fat for aroma. The subtle spiciness of the sansho and the mild taste of the Kobe beef fat are inevitable and addictive. No wonder the brand's founder, Mr. Alexander, says, "I wanted to express the aroma with gin.
Kobe beef fat melts at a temperature of 36 degrees Celsius. It melts as soon as it enters the mouth, so it does not feel sticky at all.
According to the owner of Nakanishi Farm (a long-established farm that has repeatedly won top prizes at competitions), which raises Kobe beef, an important ingredient for this gin, "Kobe beef" is a name reserved for only those Tajima beef from Kobe that have passed strict screening in terms of pedigree, meat quality and growing environment.
Tajima cows have thin legs for their size, and are sickly and easily stressed. At Nakanishi Farm, cows are kept in separate barns according to their compatibility and age, and under thorough health management, they are raised to be Kobe cows of the highest quality.
To our surprise, there is now a place in Ebisu where you can enjoy this special gin. Bar Tram, Bar TRENCH, and Bar TRIAD are the first bars in Japan to import Monkey 47 and are certified as brand ambassador stores. The bars offer gin and tonic and other original gin cocktails depending on your order. The period is limited, so be sure to come early. Please come and taste the deep world of craft gin.
All 274 pieces produced in this limited edition will be numbered and signed. Due to the small production quantity, there are no plans to sell them in Japan.
