Bistro with gallery in Yoyogi UeharaAELUwill hold "Whitepieces," an exhibition of vessels based on the theme of "white. Eight popular artists will gather around the theme of white, which can be said to be the starting point of vessels.
Each artist expresses white through a variety of vessels, including glass, ceramics, and lacquerware. This exhibition redefines the way to enjoy the white tableware that one should have in the home.
Below is a comment from Manako (Manako), a buyer for AELU.
We asked eight artists to cooperate with us, including those who usually make white works and those who do not have an image of white. We wondered what would happen if these artists made white works, not to mention those who are good at white works. It became a group exhibition that was a pleasure just to look at the works. We usually pick up and use white vessels without thinking about it, but the white works created by the artists are minimal but expressive, and they remind us of the pleasure of using them while fitting in with our daily life. As more and more people are becoming interested in vessels, we hope that you will take this opportunity to see white vessels that you can enjoy the differences while enjoying the fun of using them.
The concept of "white" and the perception of depth varies from artist to artist and from person to person. The interesting aspect of this exhibition lies in the enjoyment of the differences in perception.
