KUON" is a fashion brand that has gained a strong following both in Japan and abroad for its modern take on traditional Japanese weaving and clothing techniques, especially rags. The brand won the "TOKYO FASHION AWARD 2018" last year and is currently sold in over 40 stores in Japan, Asia, Europe, and the United States.
This time, Quon has collaborated with NY-based rap and hip-hop performer Yoshi24k to create a music video.
Yoshi24k is a 20-year-old from New York City, a new generation cultural hybrid who also has roots in Japan and grew up watching Japanese anime, released "Wait On" in May, which has hit over 1.1 million views on YouTube.
Yoshi24k, who travels frequently between Tokyo and New York, has long been a fan of Quon. He met designer Shinichiro Ishibashi for the first time in New York in February of this year, and they immediately hit it off, resulting in this collaboration. Quon has always been popular outside of Japan, and the session with Yoshi24k will probably strengthen this trend.
