There are several creators that I can't take my eyes off of, and in terms of photographers, Keisuke Nagoshi is probably at the top of that list. Even in Huinamu.Often following its movements.I have been working on a new book for a long time.
The name of the work is "Baka Bond India Kumbhmera: The Saints' Ride". As the name suggests, the book is about India.
The film is composed mainly of new works shot by Keisuke Nagoshi and his close friend, editor Takuro Chikada, during the 13-day Kumbh Mela festival in India, known as the world's largest festival, along with works he has been shooting in India for the past 12 years.
Kumbh Mela is a major festival that travels to four sacred sites every three years, and the 2019 festival will be held in Allahabad, home to the holy Sangam, and will be the largest of the four, with a grand procession of sadhus from all over India and over 100 million pilgrims.
Such chaos and the daily lives of the common people of India are vividly reflected through the filter of Keisuke Nagoshi, a wandering photographer of rare ability.
The editor Chikada's diary and reportage, which are interspersed throughout the book, are also very realistic and wonderful, making India stand out in a more three-dimensional way.
An exhibition titled "LOOK at THE SUN" will be held from July 20 (Sat.) prior to the release of this work. A collection of new works will also be on sale at the venue.
There will also be an artist talk show with special guests. Details are below.
