Fumiyart after 16 years! Painter Fumiya Fujii is back.

Fumiya Fujii is overwhelmingly famous as a musician, but did you know that he is also a painter?

In 1993, he held his first solo exhibition, "Fumiyart-Take a break," which marked his shocking debut as a CG artist, and in 2003, he held the "Fumiyart" exhibition, which made a big impact, but he stopped his career as a painter at this time. He has been working as a painter since the beginning of his career.

And this summer, breaking his 16-year silence, Fumiya Fujii will hold his solo exhibition as a painter, Fumiyart 2019.

This exhibition features CG art presented at "Fumiyart-Take a break," the first computer graphics exhibition that toured nine locations in Japan in 1993, line drawings presented in 2003, and "Harie" and "Kirie," which make full use of a cutter. The exhibition will look back on Fumiyart's past work, going back to its origins in the 1960s.

Also noteworthy are the analog works on view for the first time, which make full use of paintbrushes and pens. The pen drawings, created using an original technique of accumulating countless lines with a hard ballpoint pen, are said to be inspired by the paintings of Klimt, an artist of the Vienna Secession at the end of the 19th century.

This is an epoch-making exhibition in which Fumiya Fujii, a pioneer of digital art, ventures into the world of analog art, which is created with a craftsman-like level of miniaturization and brushstroke expression.
